This is a series of drawings of people’s most precious possessions. Each one lent to me in trust to study and draw in my studio, adding to my collection of exquisite objects floating in a dark abyss.
Each piece starts with a silhouette in pencil on paper, followed by an intensely drawn background in graphite pencil. The image emerges using a mix of pencil and eraser, focussing on light, shadow and texture.
