Drawings

Drawing is central to my practice as both a way of thinking and a way of observing minute detail. I use it to explore and resolve ideas, but also to understand more fully what I am seeing. The sustained act of drawing slows me down, bringing me into the present and allowing me to notice structure, movement and subtle shifts that might otherwise pass too quickly. The process is meditative, but also analytical. In recent years I have developed a more distinctive language of line through ink, oil paint, graphite and pens, using drawing both to record what I see and to think through form, relationships and ideas.
