Tide and Times

Tide and Times was an RIBA London and BBC21CC 2009 exhibition celebrating the river Thames that explored the historical, ecological, geographical and social elements of what makes the river so special and such an iconic image of London.

Four architect teams – Amenity Space, SCABAL, SMC Alsop and Urban Salon – were selected to work with primary school groups to design three audio-visual pods and a connecting walkway to showcase the multimedia outputs of the BBC 21CC Tides and Times project. The pods were located at Southwark Cathedral, Somerset House and the Royal Festival Hall.
