Breathless

Gallery: Cambridge Darkroom, Cambridge (1989)

Dimensions: 1.5m x 1.5m x 1m

Date: 1989

Materials: Monitor, animal fur

The fur was found outside a factory in Hackney, dyed grey with a number on the back of each pelt. The video playing within the fur is a close up of a woman breathing.

Breathless presents the body as an instrument, situated amongst lifelessness yet able to flourish.
